On The Second Day...

Well, the second day on the job and it was pretty routine except for two things.

1: Feeding the cows I was scooping out corn gluten I didn't lift the pail high enough and my thumb was crunched between the bucket and the plywood container that holds the gluten. Now when I hit the space bar I get a nice twinge .

2: This is pretty gross, but it is life on the farm. When we were lifting an empty water barrel we found that some mice had nested there, it was just the little babies (poor, disgusting things, they didn't have their eyes open) and The Boss took one look at 'em and promptly started stomping on them.

After this gruesome ritual was done, The Boss scraped up some dirt with his shoe and buried them "So they won't smell," looked down and saw a wide-eyed, pale, and repulsed 13-year old face. He laughed and explained his woes with past mice, who had chewed through his cow scale cord and had to replace the whole $600 dollar thing. I was strangely quiet the next hour. Ahhhhh...... Life on the farm.

Next day is probably Thursday. So I'll write again soon!
